1. Be Organized – <\/strong>Plan what you are going to cook, prepare as much as you can ahead of time, and make sure you have the right tools for the job. <\/p>\n

2. Preheat the Grill –<\/strong> No matter what you are cooking, you want to have a preheated grill. Meats like steak require hot heat (500 degrees) and meats like chicken and fish require indirect grilling (350 degrees).<\/p>\n

3. Keep it Clean –<\/strong> Keeping your grill clean, before, during, and after cooking items will help avoid food borne illnesses, cross contamination, and help keep food from sticking to the grill.<\/p>\n

4. Don't Turn, Stab or Poke –<\/strong> It is very tempting to keep flipping your meat or worse stabbing and using a spatula to flatten. This will make the flavor rich juices flow in to the grill.<\/p>\n

5. Let it Rest –<\/strong> Again, it can be tempting to holler to your guests that dinner is ready the minute it gets off the grill, but letting meats and even vegetables rest of a bit will allow the flavor and juices to distribute throughout the meat.
