Visit Joshua Tree National Park this Summer

Admittedly this is a four-hour drive from your Mar Vista apartment, but Joshua Tree National Park is a treasure and quite frankly worth the drive.  Joshua Tree is a great spot for hikers, rock climbers, campers and nature buffs, the surreal landscape is a mix of jumbled rocks, cactus, pinyon pines and of course the stark limbs of the Joshua tree.  Explore by day and star gaze at night.
 
Enjoy eating at the famous Crossroads Café or the Joshua Tree Saloon.  There are plenty of hotels, inns, and camp grounds so staying a night or two won’t be a problem.
